In chemistry, the characteristics a substance
possesses by virtue of its composition.
Physical properties of a substance can be
measured by physical means, for example
boiling point, melting point, hardness,
elasticity, colour, and physical state.
Chemical properties are the way it reacts
with other substances; whether it is acidic
or basic, an oxidizing or a reducing agent, a
salt, or stable to heat, for example.
